Using the Timer to Record a Time Entry on a Ticket

Use the timer to record time that you spend working on a ticket. The timer will run until you choose to stop it - or pause it (if you want to work on something else) and restart it later on.

You can start the timer as you create the ticket (by selecting the Start timer on ticket creation option at the bottom of the new ticket page):

... or you can start the timer as you start working on an existing ticket:

  1. Open the ticket you want to start working on.
  2. In the time tracking panel on the right of the page, click on the Start timer button:
  3. the timer begins running.

  4. Click on Stop timer when you have finished working on the ticket. The Add time entry page is displayed with the values in the Started and Time spent fields inserted:
  5. Fill in the rest of the details and click Save. (see Adding a Time Entry to a Ticket for details of the fields available).
  6. The time entry is added to the Time tracking tab in the ticket page
